Iowa Freelancers is a community of Iowa based freelancers that includes a website, (iowafreelancers.com) a facebook group (fb.com/groups/iowafreelancers), and a regular, twice-a-month meetup.
I started Iowa Freelancers to give local freelancers a community they can belong to, where they can find advice, collaboration, and sometimes some good old fashioned commiserating.
1 Million Cups works with entrepreneurs, empowering them with the tools and resources to break down barriers that stand in the way of starting and growing their businesses.
I joined the 1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids organizing team towards the end of 2018. Right after I joined we started brainstorming a totally new format not being done at any other 1MC. We implemented the new format beginning of 2019 and have received nothing but positive feedback, both from presenters and attendees.
Aside from attending regular organizer meetings, I had the privilege of serving as the Emcee for over a year, kicking off the event every Wednesday morning at 8:30am.
In 2017, Will Lenzen Jr. founded Yoimono, a coworking space and community for creatives. Not long after, I took over day to day operations, and eventually Will stepped away from the business, and I took over completely, and rebranded it as The Space.
The Space is proud to be part of this vibrant NewBo community. Our doors are open to freelancers, remote workers, solopreneurs, consultants, and startups. We view creativity in the broadest possible sense. A creative professional is anyone who taps into ingenuity, vision, and resourcefulness.
As a Google Product Expert in Google's Chromebook support forum, I earn special badges and perks by helping others make the most out of their Chrome OS devices. Perks include regular Google Hangouts with members of Google's product teams, as well as an annual trip to one of Google's campus' for a 3 day summit with other Product Experts.
Unofficial Chrome OS Resource
Chromebook Guide is an unofficial resource for all things Chrome OS. What started out as a Google Doc for my own reference while answering questions in Googles Chromebook forum, has evolved over time into a website that receives hundreds of viewers every day, that actually makes me a couple hundred dollars a month in ad revenue.
